Bookmarking unverified lists is how you end up depending on an abandoned project — so we checked all sixteen: what each is, whether it's real and maintained, and whether the one-line description holds. The good news: this is a strong, current list. The useful news: a few entries need an asterisk.
01 — The verdictA real stack, honestly grouped
Grouped by the job rather than the grid's arbitrary order, the sixteen cover the genuine open-source AI-engineering stack end to end: run models, build agents, orchestrate workflows, do retrieval, observe, fine-tune, and read documents. Most are load-bearing projects a real team would actually reach for.
